The Beautiful Ms. White Dress

Ms. White Dress will be the third traveling dress project I have been a part of.

It is a fun project in which photographers from all over the country will photograph the same dress. No one knows how the other photographer is going to photograph the dress.  Once everyone has photographed it, we bring all the images together to see all of our different visions for the dress.

Every time I do this project I find myself learning new things in the most unexpected ways.  I try to think outside the box and shoot in ways that are not familiar or comfortable for me.  Mother nature put a hiccup in my original vision again. But I found a way to make the most out of the situation.

For this project I had four different images in mind.  Only one of them worked.  It actually turned out better than I had envisioned it to be.  But that had a lot to do with my beautiful model who was willing to do any crazy thing I came up with.

My first image was going to be at a place that is ALWAYS windy.  But on this particular day there was no wind at all.  And I was going to use my off camera flash which wasn't working.  So instead I ended up with a silhouette with a beautiful sunrise.

For the next image I was going to do it at one of my favorite locations.  But because of the unusual high tides it was completely underwater.

So as we were driving around trying to find another place to do photos we came upon this beautiful ray of light coming through the trees.  We quickly hopped out of the car and I finally figured out my off camera flash and I was able to get these shots.

We then went to this coral building that I had planned on shooting from the top of the building but they had it closed.  Disappointed again I had to look for other options.  Came across this wall that I thought she would look beautiful in front of.

We decided to give it a break for a while and we met back at my house later in the day.  This was the last idea that I had and the only one that worked.  It turned out exactly how I envisioned it.
