The Traveling Red Dress

One of the things I love most about photography is that you are consistently learning, growing and being challenged beyond abilities you thought you would never have.  And most recently, with a group of photographers from all over the nation plus one Canadian we sent a Red Dress on a journey to be photographed by each one of us with our own vision and concept in mind.  None of us knew what the other was going to do so not to influence the others vision.

The first thing that came to my mind was the song by Chris De Burgh "Lady in Red"

The lady in red is dancing with me cheek to cheek
There's nobody here, it's just you and me, it's where I wanna be
But I hardly know this beauty by my side
I'll never forget the way you look tonight

Right away I knew the couple I wanted to model for this shoot.  A fun and very much in love young couple.  And I knew the place and exactly how I wanted my images to look.  The challenge was going to be how was I going to pull this off as this was the first time using off camera flash without my good friend Ellen to help me and I wasn't hundred percent sure of the location.  I had 5 days with the dress before shipping it off to the next person.  After going all over the city to find the perfect spot I got my shots!!!  I had so much fun with these two.  We laughed so much that my stomach hurt by the time we got home.  I am very thankful to them for helping me get the vision I wanted.

You can see all of the images on  Focused Photographers Website or follow the blog circle of some of the others work starting with Samantha Rambo Photography.
